You can either grow one tree and nurture it through its life so it gets high and strong, or you can decide on the things a tree needs through its life and then help various trees at various stages so that some grow high and strong, or you can plant seeds - many many seeds - and let them grow on their own so that the few that are brave enough will grow themselves high and strong.
